The ticket usually contains information about which system it was booked in. To check, you need to go to the website or mobile application of the system. Fill in the required fields, indicating the reservation code of the system or the number of the ticket itself, last name (as in the electronic receipt). Click the “View” button. If a seat on a flight is reserved and payment has been made, “Confirmed” will be indicated in the “Status” column.
It is impossible to clarify information about the status of a reservation by last name alone, either on the carrier’s website, or in any of the global reservation systems, or by calling the airline. It is also impossible to check an air ticket using the ticket number without specifying the reservation code.
Global reservation systems allow you to find out not only whether payment for your reserved seat on the plane has been completed, but also flight information, metro map or public transport schedule, and the weather. Here you can also find maps and descriptions of iconic attractions.
What to do if there is a mistake in the reservation?
Typos on your e-ticket can ruin your trip. After receiving the E-Ticket, carefully check the correct spelling of the last name (must match the passport) and date of birth, the number of the document itself.
If you find errors in the spelling of your last name or first name, you must:
- Contact the company on whose website the plane seats were booked and report the error.
- If the reservation was made on the carrier’s website or in one of the global reservation systems, then you need to call the airline’s hotline number.
The following scenarios are possible:
- Inaccuracies will be corrected without penalty.
- The airline will allow you to use a ticket with typos.
- A fine will be issued, the ticket with errors will be canceled, and the passenger will have the opportunity to reserve a new one.
Money for a defective ticket will be refunded minus a fine. The period depends on the specific carrier and the bank card used to pay for the purchase.
If, when filling out the E-Ticket form, your first and last names were swapped, you will not have to change it. It is enough to simply warn the airport employee involved in check-in about this.
An error in the date of birth or passport number is corrected without penalties. You must call the airline's hotline and ask the operator to correct the inaccuracy.
No reservation
If checking your air ticket reservation is unsuccessful, you must:
- Contact the travel agency that ordered the tickets to find out the details.
- Contact the customer assistance section of the service through which you booked your ticket for clarification. There may have been a failure and the payment has not yet gone through.
- Contact the air carrier and check with them for details.
