Promotions on flights to Asia. Independent travel technology

Every trip for me begins with searching and purchasing air tickets. I think it’s no secret to many that most of the travel budget is the budget for air tickets, especially if you fly to Southeast Asian countries. So today we’ll talk about how and where to buy cheap air tickets .

How I love flying airplanes! And airports don’t annoy me :)

To search and purchase air tickets, I advise you to use the megasearch engine aviaseles.ru. I use this site all the time and can highly recommend it for purchasing tickets. The search engine searches for air tickets according to specified parameters (arrival city, departure city, dates) across multiple booking sites and displays results in ascending order of cost. Just fill out the form below and wait for the search results

1. Time

The sooner before your planned departure you start looking for air tickets, the greater your chances of buying inexpensive air tickets with a convenient departure time.

For long holidays, such as, and other long weekends, I advise you to buy tickets very much in advance - a year in advance. (yes, yes, in a year! Or even earlier). Don't expect to buy cheap holiday tickets just before your flight, this is very unlikely.

2. Buying a ticket immediately there and back As a rule, round trip tickets cost almost the same as a one-way ticket.

Therefore, if you are flying on vacation for a week or two or know exactly when you plan to return home even after, take tickets immediately there and back. This rule most often does not apply to flights within Russia, Ukraine or other CIS countries. For example,

a ticket Moscow - Kyiv - Moscow usually costs me exactly as much as two tickets Moscow - Kyiv and Kyiv - Moscow. The same goes for flights, for example, from Moscow to Krasnodar or from Moscow to Simferopol.

3. Play around with dates If it doesn’t matter to you what day you fly out on, try playing around with the dates. Typically, midweek flights are cheaper than flights on Fridays and Saturdays. The search engine aviasales.ru has this option -

search for air tickets for selected dates +/- 3 days.

4. Low price calendar Take advantage: it’s very convenient to immediately see on what dates what prices are for air tickets

A very convenient feature on the site is a low price calendar.

5. Play around with the city of departure or arrival

If you plan to visit several cities or countries in one trip, I advise you to play around and look at the prices for flights to different cities and countries.

For example, you want to fly to, but don’t mind seeing other cities and countries in Asia along the way. Then you can buy a flight Moscow - Bangkok and Bangkok - Samui or, for example, Moscow - Hong Kong and Hong Kong - Samui, or Moscow - Pukhket and Pukhket - Samui.

Or maybe you want to relax in Malaysia or Singapore? Most often, a flight Moscow - Singapore or Moscow - Kuala Lumpur is more expensive than a composite flight Moscow - Bangkok, and then an air flight from Bangkok - Kuala Lumpur.

The same goes for flying to Indonesia. The flight Moscow – Denpasar is usually very expensive, so people often fly to Denpasar via Jakarta or Kuala Lumpur, combining the main flight from Moscow with low-cost airlines in Asia.

It's the same with the Philippines. For example, You can fly to the Philippines very inexpensively via Hong Kong. Aeroflot often has promotions from Moscow to Hong Kong at 12-16 thousand rubles per person for a round-trip ticket, and from Hong Kong you can fly to Manila or Cebu for 50-150 dollars! (we already flew like this a couple of years ago).

The same goes for the departure city. Most often it is cheaper to fly from Moscow (if you live in Russia) or from Kyiv (if you live in Ukraine).

6. Don't be afraid to fly with transfers

Don't be afraid to buy tickets for flights with transfers. Most often, a flight with transfers is cheaper than a direct flight. I flew to Asia only once without a transfer; all other times the flights were with connections. If the connection is 2-3 hours, it’s generally great: you can get off the plane, warm up, buy something at duty free. But you shouldn’t be afraid of long connections; you can read about our flight with an 8-hour connection in Doha. And about the flight to Mexico with a connection in Madrid -.

Typically these airlines have good sales several times a year.

If you haven’t yet chosen exactly where you want to fly on vacation or for the weekend, use the low price card. When you click on the map, a map will open on which you can select the departure city, departure dates, duration of stay, visa or visa-free countries, and budget. After this, you will see flight options to different countries and cities according to the specified parameters. All you have to do is choose a vacation spot 😎

Now you know how and where you can buy cheap tickets. I wish you a successful search! If you have questions about finding and purchasing tickets, planning routes, paying for and receiving tickets, feel free to ask questions in the comments, I will help in any way I can! Hello friends! Now summer is in full swing, and many are already planning a winter stay or traveling to the countries of Southeast Asia. Of course, everyone wants to buy inexpensive air tickets within the region, and there is such an opportunity! Fortunately, there is a wonderful airline, Air Asia, from which you can get cheap air tickets throughout Asia. We’ll talk about purchasing tickets on the company’s official website today.

This article is primarily intended for beginners who are not familiar with the various tricks and tricks of airlines when buying air tickets, and the Air Asia website is just a clear illustration of this behavior :-)

How to buy cheap flights to Asia

Air Asia (Air Asia) has a fairly extensive network of flights throughout the region (you can view the interactive map here. Their hubs (main transit airports) are Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Chiang Mai, Tokyo and some other large cities. The company was recognized the best low-cost airline in the world 4 times, and even has its own chain of budget hotels.

Air Asia offers inexpensive air tickets, but you can buy even cheaper ones if you take them on sales, which are held quite often, usually starting on Monday. But in the process of issuing tickets, if you do not uncheck the boxes, the attractive price increases significantly - we will tell you how to avoid this below.

Since this is a low-cost airline, baggage, on-board meals, seat selection and some other services are paid additionally. Often these options are not needed, or they can be sacrificed for the sake of an inexpensive flight. We’ll tell you in more detail how to buy air tickets in Asia and beyond on the company’s official website.

Purchasing air tickets on the Air Asia website - instructions

For example, let's take the Bali-Kuala Lumpur route. Don't be scared by the big numbers in the screenshots ;-), these are prices in Indonesian Rupiah (1 USD = 13,476 IDR at the time of writing).

1. Register on the official website To do this, click on the link indicated in the screenshot, fill in the fields: e-mail, password, and so on. I think this operation will not raise questions and is familiar to many. Why register? In the future, you can manage your bookings, change your name, dates, pay for luggage, meals, and so on.

Registration on the Air Asia website

2. Enter the desired route and number, one way or round trip. In our case, the cost of an air ticket from Bali to Kuala Lumpur is a little more than $40.

When there is a sale, prices are marked as “promo”. We select the option that is suitable in terms of time and cost, and the final price is displayed on the right side. In our case - for two people.

Air Asia immediately offers some additional options (seat selection, the ability to change the date, 20 kg of luggage, meals on the plane), although the ticket price doubles. By the way, the airline now has two types of fares - Low Fare and Premium Flex.

3. Next you are asked to add luggage or select “without luggage”. Since Air Asia is a low-cost airline, luggage is paid, and hand luggage allowed on board is no more than 7 kg. Supplement for 20 kg of luggage is about $14. There are also additional paid services (meals, seat selection), this is at your discretion, we did not purchase anything additional. I don’t see any point in paying for choosing a place at all.

At the very bottom there is automatically a checkbox “I want insurance from Air Asia”. It's up to you to decide whether to take it or not. Just know that there is an option to say no.

Selecting additional options

5. Again, Air Asia offers VIP treatment and airport transfers, if such options are required, book them. But what kind of VIP service? Here we buy cheap air tickets to Asia :) A transfer can be quite useful, but often you can go faster by a regular bus and for the same money.

6. Next, fill in the payment information, select the payment method (in our case, it is a bank card, indicate its details, click finish. The site does not ask for passport data, but don’t worry - they are entered when online check-in for the flight. Everything is quite clear here, “ Card Issuer” write the name of your bank in English, and “Card issuing country” the country of issue of the card. By the way, for payment by card there is a fee of 4 dollars.

Filling out payment information on the Air Asia website

7. You are redirected to your bank’s payment gateway, where you confirm the payment with a one-time SMS password.

8. The purchase was completed successfully - confirmed! You will receive an itinerary receipt by email, although you can immediately print it out from here or go to manage your booking.

Completing your purchase

Tickets are non-refundable, or rather the fares themselves, and fees can be returned minus a small commission; a separate article was written about this - quite simply.

Check-in for a flight opens 14 days before departure; this can be done online for free, or by paying extra to select a seat. Check-in at the Air Asia counter at the airport is also free (opens 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour), except for domestic flights in Indonesia and Malaysia. Be careful!

After check-in, you can add baggage, meals, and change the departure date (if provided for in the fare, but no later than 48 hours before departure).

A little later we will write another article where we will examine the main issues related to air tickets and Air Asia flights.

How to buy cheap air tickets to Asia, for example? Cheap flights

In the conditions of downshifting, cut budgets, the desire to spend less and earn more - we are developing a good habit of counting every penny, and we are looking for cheap flights! And when a person goes on a trip, booking airline tickets turns into a real hunt for something that is supposed to be yours, but is hidden from you. One of the most painless options for those who don’t want to bother about discounts, and waiting at airports - there are many sites where you can buy air tickets, and in a couple of clicks receive your cherished flight reservation by email, print it out and go pack your suitcases. I will not show in detail how to buy air tickets, but some convenient options for buying tickets online you should know. For example, I use sites such as:

  1. Cheap flights – MOMONDO

http://www.momondo.ru

The site allows you to immediately track the cost of plane tickets over a certain period of time, for example, a month.

Momondo – tickets online

  1. Cheap flights – SKYSCANNER

The convenience of using the site is that here you can also choose plane schedules depending on your budget. Of course, if you have time. For example, let’s take a flight from Ukraine to India.

Skyscanner – flight booking

1 – I chose flights from Ukraine to India.

2 – I’m deciding whether I need a return ticket

3 – I want to see the breakdown of prices for air tickets (including the cheapest air tickets)

After I'm given an approximate price range, I choose, say, the lowest price, and look at where the flight is from and where the flight is going.

Skyscanner – plane tickets

I can see that, for example, in this case it will be air travel with the help of airlines such as flydubai, Aeroflot and Turkish Airlines. I click on the price again and see this layout:

Skyscanner - flights

Okay, of course, you’ll have to fly Aeroflot + Turkish Airlines. I click on the price again and see prices for air travel for the whole month.

Skyscanner - air ticket sales

Great, I see that there are flights at very competitive prices, such as $262 dollars. I click and buy.

Usually, however, then my eyes widen a little, since the price jumps a little due to markups, impositions, taxes, overlays and the forced use of various types of payments. How to get rid of such goodness, in the particular case of local Asian airlines (Air Asia), read in my next article. Low cost sometimes also knows how to surprise.

  1. Cheap flights – AVIASALES

Aviasales – purchase of air tickets

Buying tickets online through the airline sales website is a matter of a couple of clicks, although the range of prices on the website allows you to determine prices for flights only within the range of plus or minus 3 days from the date on which you approximately expect to fly. And then, this function can only be seen after the primary flight filter. Maybe, of course, I’m inattentive, and this could have been changed somewhere, but that’s why I’m a user, so as not to wander around the site in search of relief. If a feature is not visible, then the feature is not visible.

If, after the initial filtering of tickets, I cannot find something interesting, I click “Change search parameters.”

Aviasales – selection of tickets

And I get the opportunity to change the dates by plus or minus 3 days.

Aviasales – how to buy the cheapest tickets online

In practice, to book flights, I use this combination:

1) I search through Momondo or Skyscanner for dates that clearly have interesting flight prices

2) I go to Aviasales and buy a ticket for a certain date.

So how to buy the cheapest flights to Asia?

Finally. There is such a thing as low-cost airlines, and it is possible to fly to the desired city in Asia through connections that I share myself.

Because there is a wonderful airline that makes life easier for all budget travelers like you and me, friends. This low-cost airline sometimes allows you to fly from Delhi to Tokyo, for example, for $17. Cool?

The scheme works like this:

2) We are looking for the cities closest to our native lands, to which our local native Slavic Airlines flies, or simply any low-cost airlines.

Write in the comment below and I will answer you how to purchase the course at a discount. I'll be glad to help! Glory

Once again, Qatar Airways has encountered an error in the pricing of air tickets, thanks to which it is possible to fly from Russia to Asia very cheaply. Wide selection of destinations (Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Japan, Indonesia, Thailand, etc.) and dates. Take advantage of it!

This is an erroneous tariff. It is unknown how long these prices will last. Book as soon as possible! You can read more about booking air tickets at the wrong fare in our instructions on how to properly search for cheap air tickets.

Search for tickets. Tickets at this price can only be purchased by planning a complex flight itinerary. This can be done on the search engines Aviasales, Buruki and Skyscanner. To find the best price, check in all three and see tickets for different dates. A prerequisite is departure from Yekaterinburg, and return to another city in Russia: the cheapest way is to return to Moscow, and also good prices for air tickets for returns to St. Petersburg, Kazan, Perm, Ufa. That is, the flight route should look like this: Ekaterinburg → a city in Asia → Moscow or another city in the Russian Federation.

Ekaterinburg - Colombo - Moscow for 17,395 rub. in February 2016 (find these tickets >>):

Ekaterinburg - Colombo - Kazan for 18,357 rub. in February 2016 (

How to live and travel inexpensively and independently in Asia and beyond. I continue the topic of independent travel. In this part I will dwell in more detail on the search for budget air tickets.

We open aggregator sites in the browser to search for the inexpensive air tickets we need so much and monitor several at once: http://www.makemytrip.com/ http://www.expedia.com/ http://www.whichbudget.com http:/ /www.kayak.com/ Russian-speaking: http://ru.momondo.com/ http://avia.travel.ru/ http://www.aviasales.ru/

Now on all these sites we search and compare ticket prices and convenient dates.

Expand the geography of your ticket search. You can fly from a neighboring city, (for example, if you live in Kemerovo, it may be more profitable to find tickets from Novosibirsk). You can also fly to neighboring city - for example, the Chinese metropolitan cities of Guangzhou and Shenzhen are separated by only one hundred kilometers, or to Hong Kong, which is also not far away. On some aggregator sites it is possible to add nearby airports to the search (Include nearby airports).

Please note that aggregator sites often charge a commission for their services. Therefore, having roughly decided on the airline, find the official website of the airline itself and check the prices there.
Websites of all airlines in the world:: http://airlinecontact.info/

You need to be critical of the options offered by aggregator sites; as practice shows, they do not provide all possible flight options. You need to use your brain and look at the map.

I will mention the airline again AirAsia, practically irreplaceable in Southeast Asia, it has inexpensive flights to India, and more recently from Kuala Lumpur to London, Paris, Tokyo (the geography of flights is expanding). The main center of this airline is located in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, from where most flights operate. Their food on the plane is not free, and they charge quite high fees for excess baggage. (you can take 15 kg of luggage for free; for additional weight it is more profitable to pay in advance via the Internet at the time of purchasing tickets), but regular sales are pleasing with their prices, and the service and planes are quite acceptable. For a small additional fee, you can choose a seat in the cabin directly on the website; for a slightly larger fee, you can buy a seat with more legroom. Be aware that if you have already purchased a ticket, changing anything on it (for example, the amount of luggage) will cost you a lot, AirAsia charges a special fee for this Spoilage Fee wtf?

To purchase you will need a card Visa or MasterCard. Visa Electron is most likely not suitable for payment. I use an Alfa-Bank Visa card, with two accounts linked to it - ruble and dollar. The dollar account is the main one. If you buy tickets using a card with a ruble account, then it is possible that the price of your ticket will not be converted into currency at the most favorable rate. Keep in mind that when checking in for a flight, many airlines ask you to show the card with which the purchase was made and if you bought the ticket using your friend’s card (take a friend to the airport to confirm) or using a “virtual” card, you may not be allowed to board the flight.
