The search engine searches for air tickets according to specified parameters (arrival city, departure city, dates) across multiple booking sites and displays results in ascending order of cost. 1. Time
The sooner before your planned departure you start looking for air tickets, the greater your chances of buying inexpensive air tickets with a convenient departure time.
For long holidays, such as, and other long weekends, I advise you to buy tickets very much in advance - a year in advance. (yes, yes, in a year! Or even earlier). Don't expect to buy cheap holiday tickets just before your flight, this is very unlikely.
2. Buying a ticket immediately there and back As a rule, round trip tickets cost almost the same as a one-way ticket.
Therefore, if you are flying on vacation for a week or two or know exactly when you plan to return home even after, take tickets immediately there and back. This rule most often does not apply to flights within Russia, Ukraine or other CIS countries. For example,
a ticket Moscow - Kyiv - Moscow usually costs me exactly as much as two tickets Moscow - Kyiv and Kyiv - Moscow. The same goes for flights, for example, from Moscow to Krasnodar or from Moscow to Simferopol.
3. Play around with dates If it doesn’t matter to you what day you fly out on, try playing around with the dates. Typically, midweek flights are cheaper than flights on Fridays and Saturdays. The search engine aviasales.ru has this option -

The same goes for the departure city. Most often it is cheaper to fly from Moscow (if you live in Russia) or from Kyiv (if you live in Ukraine).
6. Don't be afraid to fly with transfers
Don't be afraid to buy tickets for flights with transfers. Most often, a flight with transfers is cheaper than a direct flight. I flew to Asia only once without a transfer; all other times the flights were with connections. If the connection is 2-3 hours, it’s generally great: you can get off the plane, warm up, buy something at duty free. But you shouldn’t be afraid of long connections; you can read about our flight with an 8-hour connection in Doha. And about the flight to Mexico with a connection in Madrid -.

How to buy cheap flights to Asia
Air Asia (Air Asia) has a fairly extensive network of flights throughout the region (you can view the interactive map here. Their hubs (main transit airports) are Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Chiang Mai, Tokyo and some other large cities. The company was recognized the best low-cost airline in the world 4 times, and even has its own chain of budget hotels.
Air Asia offers inexpensive air tickets, but you can buy even cheaper ones if you take them on sales, which are held quite often, usually starting on Monday. But in the process of issuing tickets, if you do not uncheck the boxes, the attractive price increases significantly - we will tell you how to avoid this below.
Since this is a low-cost airline, baggage, on-board meals, seat selection and some other services are paid additionally. Often these options are not needed, or they can be sacrificed for the sake of an inexpensive flight. We’ll tell you in more detail how to buy air tickets in Asia and beyond on the company’s official website.

For example, let's take the Bali-Kuala Lumpur route. Don't be scared by the big numbers in the screenshots ;-), these are prices in Indonesian Rupiah (1 USD = 13,476 IDR at the time of writing).
1. Register on the official website To do this, click on the link indicated in the screenshot, fill in the fields: e-mail, password, and so on. I think this operation will not raise questions and is familiar to many. Why register? In the future, you can manage your bookings, change your name, dates, pay for luggage, meals, and so on.

2. Enter the desired route and number, one way or round trip. In our case, the cost of an air ticket from Bali to Kuala Lumpur is a little more than $40.
When there is a sale, prices are marked as “promo”. We select the option that is suitable in terms of time and cost, and the final price is displayed on the right side. In our case - for two people.
Air Asia immediately offers some additional options (seat selection, the ability to change the date, 20 kg of luggage, meals on the plane), although the ticket price doubles. By the way, the airline now has two types of fares - Low Fare and Premium Flex.
3. Next you are asked to add luggage or select “without luggage”. Since Air Asia is a low-cost airline, luggage is paid, and hand luggage allowed on board is no more than 7 kg. Supplement for 20 kg of luggage is about $14. There are also additional paid services (meals, seat selection), this is at your discretion, we did not purchase anything additional. I don’t see any point in paying for choosing a place at all.
At the very bottom there is automatically a checkbox “I want insurance from Air Asia”. It's up to you to decide whether to take it or not. Just know that there is an option to say no.

5. Again, Air Asia offers VIP treatment and airport transfers, if such options are required, book them. But what kind of VIP service? Here we buy cheap air tickets to Asia :) A transfer can be quite useful, but often you can go faster by a regular bus and for the same money.

6. Next, fill in the payment information, select the payment method (in our case, it is a bank card, indicate its details, click finish. The site does not ask for passport data, but don’t worry - they are entered when online check-in for the flight. Everything is quite clear here, “ Card Issuer” write the name of your bank in English, and “Card issuing country” the country of issue of the card. By the way, for payment by card there is a fee of 4 dollars.

7. You are redirected to your bank’s payment gateway, where you confirm the payment with a one-time SMS password.
8. The purchase was completed successfully - confirmed! You will receive an itinerary receipt by email, although you can immediately print it out from here or go to manage your booking.

Tickets are non-refundable, or rather the fares themselves, and fees can be returned minus a small commission; a separate article was written about this - quite simply.
Check-in for a flight opens 14 days before departure; this can be done online for free, or by paying extra to select a seat. Check-in at the Air Asia counter at the airport is also free (opens 3 hours before departure and closes 1 hour), except for domestic flights in Indonesia and Malaysia. Be careful!
After check-in, you can add baggage, meals, and change the departure date (if provided for in the fare, but no later than 48 hours before departure).

Expand the geography of your ticket search. You can fly from a neighboring city, (for example, if you live in Kemerovo, it may be more profitable to find tickets from Novosibirsk). You need to be critical of the options offered by aggregator sites; as practice shows, they do not provide all possible flight options. You need to use your brain and look at the map.
I will mention the airline again AirAsia, practically irreplaceable in Southeast Asia, it has inexpensive flights to India, and more recently from Kuala Lumpur to London, Paris, Tokyo (the geography of flights is expanding). The main center of this airline is located in the Malaysian capital Kuala Lumpur, from where most flights operate. Their food on the plane is not free, and they charge quite high fees for excess baggage. (you can take 15 kg of luggage for free; for additional weight it is more profitable to pay in advance via the Internet at the time of purchasing tickets), but regular sales are pleasing with their prices, and the service and planes are quite acceptable. For a small additional fee, you can choose a seat in the cabin directly on the website; for a slightly larger fee, you can buy a seat with more legroom. Be aware that if you have already purchased a ticket, changing anything on it (for example, the amount of luggage) will cost you a lot, AirAsia charges a special fee for this Spoilage Fee wtf?
To purchase you will need a card Visa or MasterCard. Visa Electron is most likely not suitable for payment. I use an Alfa-Bank Visa card, with two accounts linked to it - ruble and dollar.
